CoLab Nashville Member Spotlight: Tianna Calcagno of Modifly
Digital media strategist finds coworking space at CoLab Nashville helps limit distractions during work hours
Modifly is digital media agency comprised of some of the most talented thinkers, designers and developers from across the country. The Austin, Texas-based agency dispatches its employees all over the United States to carry out media plans, build websites and manage projects.
One of those employees is Tianna Calcagno, a CoLab Nashville member. Calcagno is a digital media strategist, writing web content and blogs and serving as a social media strategist for clients. She recently sat down with us to discuss what brought her to CoLab Nashville.
CoLab: How long have you been at CoLab?
TC: I’ve been here since March.
CL: How did you hear about CoLab?
TC: From my coworker and founder of Modifly, Tyler. He lived here in Nashville for a long time. He almost rented his own space in CoLab when he lived here.

CL: What made you want to use a coworking space?
TC: I live in a very small apartment and my roommate works from home. It became difficult to have access to a private space where I could take phone calls and work without distractions.
CL: What’s your favorite part about working downtown?
TC: Since working downtown, I have seen a different side of Nashville that I didn’t know existed. I feel like I’m in New York or Chicago when I look out on Fourth Avenue. Parts of Downtown Nashville such as The Arcade make me feel like I’m on vacation every time I go to lunch. I’m discovering the little nooks and crannies around here and I feel even more connected to Nashville. It’s so great to work in the heart of the city.
CL: What makes being involved with CoLab so great?
TC: What I love about CoLab is the networking opportunity and being a part of a team because my team is remote across the country. It gives me the option to see faces every day, an option I didn’t have working from home.
