Nashville’s coworking space brings members together for a round of table tennis
Nothing says group togetherness like a good ol’ round of ping pong.
CoLab Nashville will be hosting its first-ever ping pong tournament July 18. The ping pong table located on the first floor has long been a favorite spot for CoLab members looking for a short workday reprieve. Now, we’re ready to gather our members for some healthy CoLab competition.
“It’s always so great when we can round up all our members at CoLab,” says Kailey Hussey, community director. “This season’s ping pong tournament is sure to be a blast.”
Table tennis got its start in England near the end of the 19th century as an after-dinner pastime for upper-middle class Victorians. Dining room tables were converted into playing fields, paddles were lids of empty cigar boxes and a champagne cork as the ball. Over time, the game evolved into what it is today: a whole bunch of fun that never gets old.
Single players will compete in 11-point matches, best out of three. We’re making this an official get-together, right down to the beer we’ll provide — feel free to bring your own! — and the chance to hang out with some of the coolest business owners in Nashville.
